Keep on trucking! : A NaNoWrimo & Life peptalk.

National Novel Writing Month is always intense twenty one days in. When I’ve participated, I felt like giving up at this time. We writers are very critical of our own writing 9 times out of 10, and get discouraged when we read first drafts of what we write. (Just ask Stephen King.) But with NaNoWriMo, the point of it is to prove to yourself that you can write a full novel. Doesn’t mean it has to be perfect.

Have faith in yourself. You can do anything if you put effort into it. And that doesn’t just apply to writing a novel, it applies to life. Life may try to hold you down, and make you want to lay down and give up.

If you give up, you miss out on amazing stuff. Heck, the novel I wrote it 2011 is now getting extremely close to being published. It was horrid at first, but with every rewrite it’s better.

Just keep trucking along. You can accomplish any one of your dreams by never giving up. You need to just get to work, and not sit around and feel sorry for yourself. Pity never gets anything done.

Work does.
