Nanowrimo 2017: The Aftermath

Funny how a plan can change. The mission for this year’s novel writing month was just to finish the draft. This year, the novel and life had different plans for me.

NaNoWriMo 2017 stats.

When I started writing, I had a written direction to go in. But like with so many arts, I had to use the eraser. And I also had to draw new lines, and move existing pieces I’d scrawled down in Scrivener to different parts.

Which this usually how writing goes for me nowadays. I used to pump out line after line of prose without really paying any attention to quality. I usually think about what to write before putting it down. Thus my speed is quite slow.

According to my stats this year, I wrote 505 words a day.   Obviously not 1,667 words a day, but it’s not a loss. At the end of it all, I wrote something… And I’m making progress on Wrath of the King.

Scrivener statistics so far. Book II is going to be bigger.

Trust me, there will be a whole lot of wrath! There’ll be quite a bit more action and craziness. And that is all the spoilers I’ll give for now. 😉

In the meantime, time to write !
